LONGED FOR LANDSCAPES
Portland, England 2011 Mixed media Project
Videoinstallation video mapping on carved stones

The project consists on a video installation with combines stone carved Portland stones and ancient jurasic amonites from the local quarries. The main video projection has an elliptical shape and comes from the roof towards stone carved slabs lying on the floor. It leads us to an holistic view of the planet and its transformation within the geological periods: cuaternarium, cretaceous, jurasic and Permian. The last one keeps the shape of Pangea, the whole continent, which refers to an original consciousness, the beginning of genetics and a universe of concepts in relation to the unified world. This concept joins with the sentence “Prosperity without Growth”, one world with limited resources. Adding meaning to all of that words, some images are shown which concern to this unified commitment, like the Voyager, who is traveling outside the solar system along the space carrying universal messages, which in case to be found by another civilizations in another galaxies, would be transmitted. Images and greetings messages of our whole World as a utopical unified human society.
